Golubjevaite [NL] – AUTO-STREAMS
AUTO-STREAMS is an artistic prototyping±research project with a goal to critically reflect on the existing digital communication and live streaming platforms: tools that have become a ubiquitous part of our everyday lives +++ In contrast to audio-video based platforms, the aim is to envision and prototype a series of interfaces allowing performances strictly through streams of text +++ The prototyping process is influenced by (mostly) woman language-based artworks and movements +++ A particular interest is to work towards designing and developing interfaces tailored to generate and broadcast genres of autofiction and autotheory inside web-browsers +++ AUTO-STREAMS are therefore also a series of online happenings that activate the ’auto’ writing inside web-browsers in front of online audiences +++ Composing and streaming text in real time as a way to accentuate unedited, unapologetic ways of working with language, as a feminist gesture to hack the literary and the digital +++ AUTO-STREAMS seeks to engage with an audience interested in non-linear narratives, digital performances and alternative open-source tools +++

Golubjevaite
A text-sound artist and a creative coder based in the Netherlands. Live digital/audiovisual performances, installations and DIY interfaces lie at the core of her practice. She codes her own language-based tools in order to produce experimental visuals and sound and refuses the commodified masculine-imposed approaches to software development. She practices continuous prototyping as a research method with a goal to think about language-based tools that stimulate, empower, amplify women’s voices.
