FLAG 2023 AiR
KA-MATRIX and Format C continue their cooperation by organizing the Free/Libre Art Glitch residency. The theme of this year’s FLAG is DIY sound recording and audio modifications, produced and presented within two publicly available interweaving phases: an artist in residence production and a collaborative multimedia installation. The summer residency offers field recording (at the Karlovac Turbine Factory), sound editing and media archiving (at the Infoshop Karlovac). The soundtrack created at the FLAG residency will be included in the Fubar glitch art documentary (currently in pre-production) and will be exhibited at the Karlovac-based ZILIK gallery in November 2023 within a CRT installation including artwork made in Fubar’s glitch art workshops.
We invite everyone interested to participate in the production (IRL only in Karlovac/Croatia) and the further planning of future glitch works and interventions to submit their application to this call.
The call is aimed at local authors active in contemporary cultural production (art, computing, design, organization, education, art history, etc.), with an interest in experimental new media topics, techniques and tactics.

Its supported by the Kultura nova Foundation, the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, Karlovac County, the City of Karlovac and the City of Zagreb.
