Fauxbar (/’f(a)u:(x)bar/) is a drop in self-organizing online part of the 2023 Fubar festival for those of us who can’t or won’t travel, or for those who prefer to do it at home – reflecting this year’s Fubar theme of DIY. A do it with others DIY solution for a DIY culture. It will be held over the summer through weekly drop in sessions starting mid July to build up steam where we can meet, talk, suggest and share ideas, experiences and solutions leading to online presentations, performances and workshops both applied for and organically self organized during late summer as well as upcoming to and during the Fubar festival (Oct 07-13 2023).

There will be a mix of invited and applied for slots. Quality of ideas will be important, but for many it might be a first time presenting, performing or talking to an audience. It is envisaged ideas that come up in the summer introduction phase could be asked to be expanded upon and these then given presentation slots and symbolic remuneration.
