Sonification in relation to historical and contemporary photography
This talk will discuss topics around situating Glitch art in a photographic context, sonification through trial and error (via Audacity), ways of developing a narrative/project with glitch art and methods of exhibiting works based in the mediums of video, sound and photography. The artist will also explain his own process of transforming photography into Glitch art, as well as discussing his ongoing and future art projects.
Caleb Daly
A lens based artist situated in Ireland whose practice engages with ideas about landscape as a socially and culturally constructed form. He has been experimenting with various glitch art techniques for the past 3 years using techniques such as sonification and data bending in order to produce new kinds of post-futurist image environments. Combining image and audio in a symbiotic relationship, his aim is to produce new kinds of audio and visual experiences for the viewer. He graduated with a first class honours from a BA in Photography.
