CALL for Glitch Art WORK
Fubar is a program focused on electronic experiments and research in contemporary error-themed digital art theory and practice. This year is the tenth and the last annual Fubar edition.
In 2024 our exhibition topic is focused on FAILED PROJECTS and mistakes. This call is open to Glitch Art work made within the pitfalls of New Media Art, Code and Theory. We welcome the best of your worst: broken yet readable files, unexpected artifacts, digital rubbish, explorations in futility, deliberations on failures, your worst takes and general stuff you may never get to show at an exhibition.
The work can be submitted into 3 categories:
- MEDIA ART
- MEDIA THEORY
- SOFTWARE CODE

Exhibition selection announcement: on a rolling basis
IRL exhibition: OCT 5th – 18th 2024 @ Pogon / Zagreb
WEB exhibition: TBA OCT 2024 – 2025 @ online

#GUIDELINES
- Only one project (single piece or series) submission is allowed per one applicant or group (e.g. 1 solo + 1 group application is okay, etc.).
- As we cannot remunerate you for your participation, we support you applying with existing projects. The work submitted should ideally be of a newer date but regardless we might accept relevant work of any date (if it hasn’t been shown in Fubar yet).
- All the pieces are being shown as a showcase on shared displays in our IRL space, and as individual objects in our WEB expo. Video submissions might additionally get selected to be screened in the main festival and/or partner program.
- This call is only open to art*code*text WORK; event drafts and collaboration proposals are to be applied to our Fauxbar call
#TECHNICALITIES
- To be reviewed, the work needs to be submitted in its final format (content, size, quality, etc.) and not a preview.
- All databent pieces need to be baked (recompressed and readable).
- Please include a reasonably sized version of your work – otherwise we might optimize it.
- This year is a production experiment in real-time building of open archives based on our DIY FUBOMATIC automation system. Please submit your work as early as possible as that will give us all a better chance to structure everything accordingly.

- Authors of selected work will be notified via our website on a rolling basis; authors of work selected for the additional curated events will be notified via e-mail.
