Glitch Film from the Fubar Archive
Over two evenings, on Mondays December 22 and 29, Format C art organization presents four sessions of digital glitch film from the Fubar glitch art festival’s ten-year archive. From 2015 to 2025, Fubar brought together more than 1,500 digital error-based artworks by over 1,000 artists from a hundred countries worldwide.
The Fubar archive contains more than 700 video artworks situated within the field of electronic error, encompassing a wide range of themes and approaches — from feedback loops, script-based collages, machinima performances, and remixed archives, to analog degradations, AI conflict, alchemical processes, digital residues, and many other practices dedicated to material experimentation in our digital era.
As part of these two pre-holiday screening sessions, visitors will be able to enjoy a curatorial selection by four Croatian curators active in the field of contemporary experimental film and video, followed by discussions with the audience and artists.
On Monday, December 22 from 5 PM onwards, Fubar directors Dina Gligo and Vedran Gligo will present their archival collection, while on Monday, December 29, starting at 5 PM, curators Petra Belc and Ingeborg Fülepp will present their collections in two-hour sessions.
More information about the works and artists soon!
In addition to the video screenings, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the parametric data structure and diverse multimedia content of the Fubar archive, which will be made available to the wider public in the coming period as an interactive archive of recent digital experimental art.
The production “Film Program from the Fubar Archive: Glitch Film” is supported by the City of Zagreb and the Kultura Nova Foundation.

Fubar is a multimedia participatory program focused on errors within the processes of interdisciplinary new media art. In 2015 it was formed as an amalgam of an open festival and a group exhibition, and since 2023 it is organized as a successive, year-round, transnational hybrid (online and on-site) production encompassing exhibitions and discussions, new collaborative productions, free educational workshops, artistic audiovisual glitch performances and screenings, and a group exhibition of new media art. In 2025, Fubar is developing its ten-year archive and preparing the first Fubar Biennial of Variable and Glitch Art, scheduled for 2026.
