Scanlines.xyz is a community-driven forum and resource hub focused on DIY video synthesis, audio-visual hardware hacking, and live visual performance. It was created by Paloma Kop, Andrei Jay, Tim Caldwell, and Olivia Jack.
Kop is a new media artist and creative technologist whose work explores synthesizers, video feedback systems, and generative patterns drawn from natural processes and mathematics. Jay is a mathematician, video artist, and educator who develops open-source software and hardware tools that expand the possibilities of video synthesis and real-time visual performance. Caldwell is a video artist and toolmaker whose interests include experimental electronics, creative coding, hack culture, community-driven art spaces, outsider filmmaking, and the aesthetics of weird and trash cinema. Olivia Jack, who was around for the early formation of the forum, is the coder and artist behind the live-codeable video synth and network coding environment which runs in browser, called Hydra.
Together, they steward the Scanlines.xyz community, fostering a collaborative environment where artists, technologists, and tinkerers exchange knowledge, build tools, and support each other.
