Fubar ARCHIVE exhibition @ Gallery Zilik
KA-MATRIX, in collaboration with Zagreb-based organization Format C, presents FLAG11x2026 – Free Art Glitch: Fubar ARCHIVE [2k26], as part of the Nova kultura _ Hybrid City .026 programme. The exhibition opens on Saturday, 26 September at 7 PM at ZILIK Gallery in Karlovac.
Since its founding in 2015 and through ten editions, Fubar has brought together hundreds of productions and more than 1,000 artists and authors working with glitch art. In 2025, Fubar evolved into a hybrid community platform, and in 2026 continues as the first biennale dedicated to variable|glitch art. Fubar grew from this ongoing practice into an interactive multimedia and data ARCHIVE containing more than 1,500 artworks, offering a way to explore a decade of experimental digital art from around the world.
At ZILIK Gallery, we present a variable exhibition installation based on the Fubar ARCHIVE, which programmatically and pseudo-randomly displays visual artworks from the collection – digital images and videos that use error as inspiration, motif or method. Glitch art offers us an interdisciplinary outlook at contemporary systems such as networks, electronic circuits and digital compression. An error can reveal the internal structure of a digital file, its ecosystem and ethics, and the ways in which it is distributed. The exhibition brings this attention to the wider multimedia landscape as a commons vulnerable to censorship, manipulation and instrumentalisation.
Due to the variable nature of the networked archive-based installation, which uses parametric and scripted processes to select works for display, the exact list of artists represented in the exhibition will be made available at fubar.space/archive-expo.
The opening will include a presentation of the open Fubar ARCHIVE web platform and an accompanying event program. The exhibition remains open until 4 October 2026 and can be visited 18:30-20:30 or by appointment at info@ka-matrix.hr / +385 95 444 6880. Admission is free.

The Fubar ARCHIVE contains more than 1,500 artworks from a decade of international experimental digital art. Its open structure allows the artwork to be explored for research and exhibitions, while focusing on sustainable digital preservation through open protocols and free software.

Format C is a non-profit art organisation working across digital art, experimental multimedia and collaborative production. It develops projects such as Fubar, a glitch art production, and Pivilion, an operating system for uncensored networked art. The organisation is led by multimedia artist Dina Gligo and interdisciplinary artist Vedran Gligo, who are also the creators of the Fubar ARCHIVE and curators of its variable exhibition installation.
