Join us for our Zagreb program closing day and enjoy the opportunity to explore the parametric data structure and diverse multimedia content of the Fubar archive, available to the public in the form of an interactive archive of recent digital experimental art. This open archive also enables the creation of curatorial collections for research and/or exhibition purposes, while opening up possibilities for the sustainable preservation of digital art through open protocols and free software.

The session will start with an online public archive launch at 14h CEST and continue with hybrid & local research of the archive content and a discussion on how to make it even better. 🍀🐛

Archive short origin story:
Since its founding in 2015 throughout all ten editions (most recently in 2024), the Fubar (/ˈfuːbar/) festival has brought together hundreds of productions and more than a thousand artists and authors working in the field of glitch art. In 2025, Fubar evolved into a hybrid community platform, in 2026 it continues as the first biennial dedicated to variable glitch art. Throughout this process, inspired by the numerous contributions and sustained support of glitch art practitioners, Fubar has formed an interactive data and multimedia archive containing more than 1,500 artworks, offering an opportunity to explore an entire decade of experimental digital art from around the world.

Format C is a non-profit arts organization that, through open-ended transdisciplinary collaborative productions, inclusive open calls, open-access educational programs, and cultural events – initiates, creates, supports, and documents critical approaches to ethical production within the new paradigm of digital arts. We have founded and developed projects including Fubar, a glitch art program, and Pivilion, an operating system for uncensored networked art. The organization is led by multimedia artist Dina Gligo and interdisciplinary artist Vedran Gligo, who are also the leads of Fubar production.
