Colston Byrd – DRUGS™
GLITCH’N’GAMES is a multi-day exhibition exploring the shared histories and evolving cultures of glitch art and video games. Its second iteration, held in Chicago, focuses on physical engagement with systems, bringing together artists, game makers, circuit benders, and theorists through competition, installations, discussions, performances, and collaborative play. Curated and produced by artist-researcher Bee Nix (SutureBlue), GLITCH’N’GAMES grew out of her MFA thesis, Glitch Play, which argues that engaging with the glitches of a system is itself a form of play.
In this G’n’G stream, Bee Nix talks with Colston Byrd of DRUGS™ about bringing video artists together with creative makers from other fields, and about how the group works as a collective both online and offline. Colston then gives a short demonstration of one of their console units.

DRUGS™ is a collective organized by Colston Byrd, with core members Rezidual Vizualz, Early Gima, TableBeast, Françoise Custardoy, TOPO, and Sterling. Their wider circle of artists is known as the PolyGon Gang.
