glitchLAB 2k26
Free online glitch art workshops for artists and anyone interested
Format C Artist Organization and the Fubar team invites everyone to join a series of free glitch art workshops where attendees, following DIWO (“Do It With Others”) and hacktivist principles, will learn to catalyze and document digital errors using free software tools.
The workshops will be mentored by glitch art veterans Dina Gligo [HR], Vedran Gligo [HR] and Ian Keaveny [IE], with participation by programmer Ramiro Polla [BR/BE] and many other glitch art community members. Sessions will take place from March 28 to December 2026, every last Saturday of the month from 14:00 to 16:00 CET/CEST, online. No prior knowledge or preparation is required to participate.
The goal of upcoming glitchLAB series is to collect, test, and archive free software and scripts that have contributed to the development of the international glitch art scene. In these sessions, we will learn to use the Git system and a variety of open-source software, critically examine multimedia infrastructures and the ethics of different usage licenses, as well as explore possibilities for restoring obsolete software. We will focus on projects that have significantly improved the conditions for multimedia experimentation by pushing the boundaries of multimedia, automating repetitive processes, and reducing manual labor, in support of collective artistic progress.
Schedule (Saturdays at 14:00): 28.3., 25.4., 30.5., 27.6., 25.7., 29.8., 26.9., 31.10., 28.11., 26.12.

This educational program is part of the first biennial edition of the Fubar community glitch art festival, held in 2026 under the slogan “Unstable art for unstable times.” After ten years of continuity, a jubilee tenth edition in 2024, and the preparation of a decade-long archive containing thousands of digital artworks during 2025, the Fubar Festival – organized by Format C since 2015 – enters a new phase this year and becomes a biennial of variable and glitch art. The first Fubar Biennale is thematically focused on collectivism: collaborative models of creation, knowledge production, and the co-creation of shared spaces in a time of social and technological instability.
Fubar (est.2015) is a program run by the artistic organization Format C, co-funded by the Kultura Nova Foundation, the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, and the City of Zagreb. The program is carried out in partnership with the Multimedia Institute and numerous associations, collectives, artists, partners from the cultural and media sector
